Following a period of growth after an appointment and a string of achievements, Punch Robson is preparing for further expansion.
We have appointed Julie Sanderson as the firm’s operations manager following a rise in demand for our services.
Julie is responsible for the effective running of the business, supporting the four Punch Robson partners with the day-to-day operations, including office and facilities management, as well as updating and implementing procedures.
Having specialised in law firm management support for 14 years, Julie will help improve the firm’s efficiency and develop growth plans.
Punch Robson’s Managing Partner and Head of Corporate and Commercial Property, Elaine McLaine-Wood said: “It’s wonderful to see the team grow. The last 12 months have been incredible for Punch Robson but we’re not stopping, as there is further growth on the cards for 2019.”
During the last few months, several members of the team have celebrated great achievements. Helen Snell, who joined the firm as a trainee solicitor in 2018 with three years of industry experience, has qualified as a solicitor, become a member of the Solicitors for the Elderly and is looking to further develop her skillset by studying for the STEP qualification.
Our Mental Health and Mental Capacity Departments have also experienced success as Legal Clerks, Angela Strike and Louise Shaw have been appointed to The Law Society’s Mental Health Panel, which recognises the members’ expertise in the area of law and allows for representation of vulnerable patients before the Mental Health Tribunal. They join the firm’s Partner and head of the department Graeme Downs, Associate Solicitor Julie Brown and Solicitor Rachael Hart on the panel.
Graeme said: “Angela and Louise’s appointment to the panel recognises their hard work, experience and allows us to further strengthen our already well-established Mental Health Department.
“We are pleased to have been able to significantly expand the number of cases we deal with involving the Court of Protection and Mental Capacity. It is clear that there is an increasing need for specialist solicitors in this area to provide advice, represent individuals and family members who find themselves involved in such cases. Our team is experienced in dealing with matters in a sensitive manner, ensuring that we work hard to achieve the best possible outcome.”
Over the coming months, the partners at Punch Robson are looking to expand the team further, having already recruited two trainee solicitors to begin their training contracts in September. We will also be looking to fill for roles in its commercial, property and litigation departments.
