Our nominated corporate charity for 2016 here at Punch Robson is local organisation Butterwick Hospice. Whilst we work together with many different charities and voluntary groups across the region, each year we choose one corporately to receive both a lump-sum in cash from the firm as well as our focus in fundraising activities across the year.
Butterwick is the largest independent hospice covering the Tees Valley, County Durham, North Yorkshire and Wearside areas and cares for individuals of all ages and their loved ones through the toughest of times. The palliative care they provide helps give some degree of respite to patients living with ongoing incurable illnesses.
Aside from a £1000 donation this year, our solicitors recently took part in the charity’s “Make a Will” month campaign throughout February.
Managing Partner of Punch Robson, Geoff Cruickshank said, “We love working with Butterwick and are passionate about supporting them. The care and comfort they bring to local people with progressive life-limiting illnesses is exceptional and they are a very well-respected charity in our region. The “Make a Will” campaign that we worked on with the hospice last month created 64 Wills and we raised an impressive sum of £3,500.”
Elaine McLaine-Wood, Partner of Punch Robson said, “As a firm we care deeply about helping vulnerable individuals in our community and see a responsibility to support causes that we truly believe in. We recognise the work that the Butterwick Hospice do in our local area and know that it’s a remarkable and very deserving charity.”
Our solicitors also take part in corporate fundraising events which are hosted by the charity throughout the year.
“Being part of the corporate support group also provides us with great opportunities to get involved with fundraising events for the charity. It is lovely to be able to work with other businesses in the Teesside area to benefit a cause which is very close to the hearts of our community.”
