Punch Robson Solicitors are proud to announce a new collaboration with the Teesside University Law Clinic.
The Law Clinic, based in the University’s School of Social Sciences Business & Law, is a free, student-run, legal advice service which gives final year students the opportunity to work on real life cases under the supervision of solicitors and legal professionals.
This new collaboration, which will start at the beginning of June 2015, includes the creation of a student prize funded by Punch Robson. This prize, awarded to an outstanding second year candidate, will allow the Law Clinic to be open for an additional two months of the year – in June and September. It will also provide a link between the outgoing Law Clinic students and incoming students from the new academic year.
Andrew Perriman, founder of the Law Clinic and Senior Lecturer in Law at Teesside University, said: “The new Punch Robson student prize not only ensures that the clinic is able to help local people for an additional two months of the year, it will also enhance the learning experience of the incoming team whilst developing the coaching skills of the outgoing team.
“It will have a significant impact on both students and clients of the clinic.”
In addition to the new student prize, Punch Robson Solicitors will also be providing mentoring, advice and support to students in their Family Law clinic. The Family Law clinic was run as a short trial this year and will continue to deliver its services through the Teesside University Law Clinic in 2015/2016.
