On November 11th, our Managing Partner, Elaine will be giving up her warm and comfortable bed for the night and to help those who do not have one.
Taking part in the CEO Sleepout, she will be sleeping outdoors alongside a number of other business leaders from across the area in the Victorian Street at Preston Park Museum in a bid to fight homelessness and poverty across Middlesbrough and Stockton.
CEO Sleepout is a national charity which has gone from strength to strength. Over 2,000 executives have raised an astounding £2,200,000 through the organisation’s events, which sees business people give up their home comforts for one night to show compassion for those who are less fortunate.
The funds raised from the sleepout will be distributed amongst Teesside-based charities and organisations to combat the issue of homelessness.
Having never taken part before, and as someone who values her sleep far too much, Elaine said: “I have always wanted to brave the elements and participate in the sleepout but haven’t had the guts to!
“After hearing Bianca Robinson, CEO of CEO Sleepout, speak so passionately about the work which the charity carries out, I knew that I had to take part as it is such a great cause.”
We’re crossing our fingers for the rain to stay away but as the colder weather has set in, Elaine has dug out her ski gear to help her keep warm. She said: “I have been given lots of great tips on how to prepare my sleeping area from some friends who have previously taken part.
“I am planning to take a high intensity gym class before the event to exhaust myself in the hope that I will get at least some sleep!”
As the first person from Punch Robson to take part in the fundraising event, we would like to wish Elaine the very best of luck for this incredible challenge.
