Wills, Probate & Trusts

Wills, Probate & Trusts

There are many misconceptions and even superstitions surrounding the making of wills and at Punch Robson we recognise that it probably isn’t top of your list of things to do.

However, our advice is not to delay, as this can be one of the most important issues you and your dependants have to face.

Punch Robson have considerable experience on all aspects of wills, probate and trusts, enabling us to offer professional advice in a sympathetic manner.

We will undertake a review of assets and advise on estate planning and setting up trusts, enabling us to discuss future scenarios and plan accordingly.  We will advise on all future liabilities, including Inheritance Tax and Capital Gains Tax with a view to minimising liabilities wherever possible.

We can ease the pressure for those who have been bereaved and deal quickly and efficiently with the administration and winding up of estates and trusts.

Our team has vast experience in mental capacity work and can offer advice on powers of attorney, including lasting powers of attorney both in relation to property and affairs and personal welfare.  We specialise in Court of Protection work, one of the partners in the firm being a member of the Court of Protection panel of Deputies, and are able to help whatever the difficulty.

Areas of work undertaken:

Wills:  new wills, amending existing wills, assets review, estate planning, tax planning;
Probate:  obtaining grants of probate or letters of administration;
Trusts:  setting up lifetime trusts, tax planning, ongoing trust administration;
Charities:  setting up charities and ongoing management and administration;
Powers of Attorney:  including lasting powers of attorney for both property and affairs and personal welfare, and Court of Protection applications for the appointment of a Deputy (formerly known as a Receiver).  We can also act as a Deputy where no other appropriate person is available.
