What's It Going To Cost?

We know you want a definitive answer.

BUT there really are too many variables to give a definitive answer.

Firstly, you may be eligible for Public Funding (this used to be called Legal Aid).

Secondly, even if you do not qualify for Public Funding, you might by exempt from the Court fees.  The Court fees are currently £340 to present a Divorce Petition and £45 to apply for Decree Absolute.

Thirdly, the case may be complex with many issues, children, finances, domestic violence or other matters and no two cases are the same.  Consequently, it is impossible to give a definitive answer until we have details of your particular case.

Finally, we will give you an estimate of costs at the outset once we know more about your case and keep you fully informed on the issue of costs throughout the life of the case and discuss appropriate funding arrangements with you.  We appreciate that this is an important issue and we will keep you fully informed.
